Monday, October 29, 6–8pm | Heath SF
Danish for "food", MAD is a non-profit founded in 2011 by chef René Redzepi of restaurant
Noma . Based in Copenhagen, MAD works beside chefs, restaurateurs, and servers from all over the world to inspire, educate, and seek creative solutions that make a real and sustainable difference in restaurants, communities, and the world at large. On Monday, October 29, MAD brings their evening talk series,
MAD Mondays, to San Francisco for the first time, and we’re humbled (and excited!) that Heath SF will be hosting. Join us for an evening of inspiring conversations, food, and drinks to celebrate the release of their new book, and very first publication,
MAD Dispatches.
Led by Dispatches editor, Co-Founder and former Editor-In-Chief of Lucky Peach, and San Francisco local Chris Ying, the evening talk draws content from the the book series’ first volume "You and I Eat the Same", exploring how immigration has been fundamental in building bonds in our cities, and the world. San Francisco is a shining example of how good food can be common ground between different cultures and a link between communities, so we'll delve into how immigration has built the city's rich culinary culture together with the book’s contributors and local experts.
Reem Assil,
Corey Lee, and
Tienlon Ho join our panel.
After the talk, continue the conversation and enjoy beautiful food served by local culinary talents of La Cocina. Tickets include food, drinks from our friends at Fort Point Beer and Anthill Farms Winery, and your very own copy of the MAD Dispatches "You and I Eat the Same".
