Stoneware serving dishes are best paired with utensils made from stainless steel, natural wood (such as the cherry wood salad servers), or other gentle materials. Ceramic serveware is typically harder than the soft metals used in most flatware—just avoid silver-plated and sterling silver cutlery. In most cases, markings from flatware are not scratched into the surface of your stoneware, and can be easily buffed out using Bar Keeper’s Friend.

Stoneware dishes are very resilient. Nonetheless, you should always take care when handling, washing, and storing your beloved Heath serving dishes, serving bowls, and drinkware.

Stoneware dinnerware sets are dishwasher safe. Make sure to use gentle detergents and run your dishwasher on a light cycle for best results. Be sure to avoid rinse aids (which may damage your stoneware’s glaze), and try to avoid contact between dishes when loading your dishwasher.
