Akio & Heath: Opening Reception & Wheel Throwing Demo

Welcome Akio Nukaga and friends to Heath for the 10th year of friendship, pottery, and community, and join us for a reception and celebration.Since 2009, Akio has brought his staggeringly elegant, simple, and beautiful designs to the US, by way of Heath. The friendship that’s formed along the way is as soulful and alive as the objects themselves. In them, we see evidence of tradition, both in technique and origin, as well as keen attention to the experience of using the objects. In commemoration of this special anniversary, we also designed new limited edition pieces inspired by Akio's work.
The contribution by Akio and his friends like Hideki Takayama (Taka) is by far one of the most rewarding experiences we, at Heath, are lucky to share, and vice versa.
