When life gives you lemons (and 2020 gave us plenty), make lemonade.
Like so many, the pandemic forced us to slow down. This imposed pause, during which we temporarily closed our showrooms and production sites, gave us the rare opportunity to truly step back and evaluate the best way forward for our teams, business, and customers.
While we had to make difficult decisions, over the ensuing months, every part of Heath worked tirelessly to sharpen our focus, streamline our production assortment, and develop new ways of bringing products to our customers.
With the new-found clarity our reduced product line affords us, we’ve strengthened our commitment to Heath’s core values, and have found new ways to make some of our most well-loved products available: through
Special Edition releases, our bi-annual
Seasonal Collection, and our expanding
Clay Studio collections.
The space we’ve carved out for our teams to explore, and continue developing new and improved glazes, production techniques, and processes has been reinvigorating, and brought us closer to the spirit that Edith Heath embedded in her namesake pottery company, way back in 1948: centered around sustainably designing high quality, locally hand-made products, that last for generations.
If you’re looking for some of these archived items, like the classic Heath Teapot, House Numbers, or Plaza Collection, know that our goal is not to stop making them forever—we love them, too!—but to be more intentional about the quantity we can produce, given the scale of our business and our pursuit of sustainability in all we do.
