Winter 2024: Conjuring Color

As the season shifts and the landscape becomes more muted (yes, even here in California), we find ourselves cherishing the beauty and joy of color all the more.

This winter’s collection combines diverse inspirations—the kaleidoscopic drawings of Ruth Asawa, audacious art nouveau prints, old-school holiday decorations—to celebrate the season in a fresh way.

The results—the palette itself, the intricate layered glazes, and the incredible contributions of our collaborators—are bold and bewitching.

Wintertime can be a bit dreary; join us in Conjuring Color and breathing fresh life into the cold season.

A single word can’t always capture what happens when glazes bubble and interact, so we tell a story instead. This season, that story is all about cozy gatherings and sweet treats.

Palette

This season starts with a familiar foundation: Heath’s iconic Indigo, accented by Deep Sea Blue from our tile palette. These moodier shades provide the perfect backdrop for two vibrant new glazes: Grapefruit and Butterscotch. Like the creative inspirations that animate the collection, winter’s palette embraces the surprising interplay between dark and light, sweet and tart.

The Rim Line—including the new Serving Bowls—takes center stage this year, balancing winter’s bold palette with the earthy tactility of exposed clay. The Deep Serving Bowl showcases the stunning depth of triple-layered glaze, while the ever-useful Plaza Serving Tray and an array of colorful accessories—including a fresh batch of bud vases—round out the assortment.

Triple–Layer Glaze

Who isn’t mesmerized by layered glazes? This season, we expanded upon past explorations with a collection of triple-layer combos: All Sorts, Nougat, and Ribbon Candy. Named for classic treats that lend the winter season some of its sweetness, each flavor is dynamic, intricate, and totally new.

Heath Clay Studio

A strikingly sculptural set of Candleholders from Tung and the Clay Studio add new dimension to Heath’s lighting collection. Each one builds upon the three-layer glaze technique with a dark-to-light gradient at the base. The effect is mesmerizing—especially under candlelight.

Partners in Craft

Each collaborator takes cues from winter’s palette, expressing the season through their medium and sharing fresh perspectives on color, texture, and form. Go here for insights into the inspirations behind this year’s Partners in Craft.

There’s a certain magic to wintertime; we’re sure you’ll find some of it in the new collection.
