Design Series Nine: Forms of Care

Form 35

8.13” H, 10.63” dia.

This piece is inspired by the original teapot designed by Edith Heath, which had a bent brass handle wrapped in woven leather. A planter is not necessarily a stable element in your home, so the handle speaks to mobility, like a basket for transporting plants. In this form, the inner bowl contains a moss garden accented with a fern, which arcs beneath the curved handle. The rim of the saucer, followed by the planter and then the domed garden come together to mimic a natural hillside. — Tung Chiang
