This brand new collection from Cedric Mitchell is the culmination of an exploratory journey through glass. Recent artist residencies gave Cedric the opportunity to slow down and spend time having fun with the material. Through this playful process he's created brand new techniques and modes of expression. This piece is part of a series inspired by the work of Ettore Sottsass. It’s made from the joining of two different parts: the neck and the dome. The moment of joining is harrowing as the diameters of each part (spinning in the air and still molten hot) needs to be kept the same and the timing of the union perfect.
